Waller ISD has created a Response to Intervention model to assist students who may be struggling academically and behaviorally in school. This is a 3-tier process which may or may not evolve to a referral to Section 504 or Special Education. If a child is experiencing learning difficulties, the parent may contact the campus RTI coordinator to learn about the district’s overall system for support services. This system links students to a variety of support options. Students having difficulty in the regular classroom should be considered for tutorial, compensatory and other academic or behavior support services that are available to all students.
The special education program for Waller ISD offers a continuum of services including in-class support, co-teach, resource classes and speech/language services. Preschool Programs for Children with Disabilities (PPCD), adaptive behavior and LIFE Skills classes are offered at select campuses. Further information about special education programs can be found on the district Special Ed. department site.
